Historically masks have been used in tribal cultures for both ceremonial and practical purposes.  They are usually carved from wood, or fashioned from leather or gourds.  Adorned with natural materials such as fur, bone, feathers, horsehair, porcupine quills and semi-precious stones they range from simple to complex in design.

Each mask is mounted on a painted and textured canvas frame.  The feathers are the “natural shed” of domestic birds.
